Dyslexia Awareness Drive inconjuction of October being the World’s Dyslexia Awareness Month

Dyslexiageniusmalaysia.com – Dyslexia Awareness Drive inconjuction of October being the World’s Dyslexia Awareness Month started with Awareness Drive Convoy from Dataran Merdeka moving around the major roads of Kuala Lumpur with dyslexics kids in the convoy cars carrying flags, banners and stickers to create public awareness with 6 PDRM Outriders controlling the convoy and traffic ending at DGM HQ in Titiwangsa..

The arrival of VIPs, other notable invited guests and 35 members of the participating convoy from Mercedes-Benz W219 CLS Malaysia and Mercedes-Benz W204 Club Malaysia..

Dyslexia Awareness Drive opening was officiated by ASP Tuan Sarifudin bin Mohd Salleh, Ketua Jabatan Siasatan & Penguatkuasaan Trafik Kuala Lumpur.

The guests was also greeted by the opening performance by DGM Shah Alam Students
After the official launching, the guest of honour and invited VIPs had a visit to the Dyslexia baazar which had 23 booth selling food & beverages, clothing, educational toys & teaching aids, home products and banking & investment promotion and many more.

Followed by a “Coffee Talk” on Dyslexia and the importance of early detection and intervention.. panel speakers were Pn. Sariah Aimirin AMW PPN Ibu Dyslexia Malaysia & Owner of SPTBiD Program, Dr. Harminder Kaur Child Development Specialist from Hospital Tuanku Azizah Kuala Lumpur, Mr Melvin Tham a dyslexic Marketing Genius and Cik Nur Afrina Shahirah a dyslexic Accountant both are also a student of DGM Youth Program, and En Azureen Mohd Amin, a father with a dyslexic child. Very informative session where panels shared information, experiences and insides on dyslexia to the public…an eye opener to the public
Event continued by special performances and fashion show from students from DGM TTDI, Puchong, Titiwangsa & Shah Alam..showing to the public that dyslexics can be and engaged in any normal activities like any normal child..

DGM also offerred free Screening Test..a overwhelming respond from the public, where about 25 students were screened and DGM assessment team gave advise to parents on what is their next course of action.

Parents were also giving the chance to participate in “burst the balloon” dance competition..Open karaoke competition also was organized participated by students, parents as well as members of the public.

Children had the chance to do painting and colouring on a canvas tote bag at the DGM booth..DGM also had games booth for children to test their skills and improve their balance & hand/eye coordination.

Over 1000 plus guests attended the event starting from 8am to 5pm..a successful event and hopes that it will bring more awareness of dyslexia and what dyslexia is..an informative and fun filled day for the public, parents and students alike..
